The boiling point is 1,251°C. Is the most soluble cesium salt. Soluble in water and methanol, insoluble in pyridine. Volatile and difficult to decompose at high temperature. In aqueous solution, ionic reactions can occur, and CsF can form complex halides with other metal halides or halogens, and can also be miscible with other metal halides to form solid solutions. Can generate a variety of complexes. Neutral salts can be stored in glass containers. If they contain a very small amount of acid, they will corrode the glass. The solution obtained by neutralizing hydrofluoric acid and cesium hydroxide is evaporated to dryness at 400°C; excess HF will form cesium hydrogen fluoride, which does not decompose at 400°C. Anhydrous salt is an excellent desiccant, more efficient than phosphorus pentoxide. Used as a fluorinating agent in organic synthesis reactions
